How we use data
Convergence is a game, and it's also a study. Every game shows you the short version of this page. Here is the long version.
What is recorded
- The words you play, one per round, and how long you took over each one.
- A random session number. It isn't tied to an account unless you make one.
- Which seats were people and which were models, and which model family.
- How the game ended, and your guess at who was AI.
What is not recorded
- We don't store your IP address.
- You don't need an email or an account to play.
- We don't keep anything you type except the single words you play.
Some players are language models
Any room can be topped up with AI players. They come from a few different labs and play by the same rules and the same clock as you do. We tell you before you start, and show you who was AI when the game ends.
Research use
We are studying how people and models settle on a shared choice. Game records are anonymized, and we may publish the collected data as a research dataset.
